The role is responsible for coordinating the Indigenous Relations team to ensure smooth and efficient operations in support of maintaining Hudbay’s social license to operate, as well as providing cultural awareness programming and training to Hudbay employees. The Indigenous Relations Administrative Coordinator also provides administrative and logistics support to ensure the flow of documentation, events, outreach, and training between Indigenous Relations, internal departments, and external parties.
The Ideal Candidate will be a team orientated individual who has:
- Ability to coordinate teams and logistics to provide cultural awareness programming and training to employees
- Knowledge of local Indigenous cultural traditions and protocols
- Effective organization skills
- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
- Possesses a valid Class 5 Drivers License.
- Proficiency in Google workspace, Adobe, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and general familiarity with software applications
- Experience in logistic coordination, creation of documents/materials and record keeping
- Experience in public and Indigenous Relations
Additions:
- Must be willing to relocate to Flin Flon or Snow Lake, MB
- Coordinate logistics for outreach, events, and training in relation to Indigenous Relations
- Maintain records and communications for all Indigenous Relations interactions and events
- Assist with set up of event spaces and attendance at key events as designated
- Support management systems and documentation, and document control
- Provide administrative support to Indigenous Relations team (ex. ordering supplies, creating and tracking orders)
- Assist with development of event / outreach materials
- Participate on external and internal committees as designated
- Able to travel to Indigenous communities on a frequent basis
- Industry experience and knowledge is considered an asset
- Priority will be given to qualified northern Indigenous candidates i.e., Treaty 5 and 6, Métis
- Preference to candidates who have worked with remote and northern Indigenous communities
- Commitment to working in a safe and responsible manner
