The Copper Mountain mine currently produces approximately 100 million pounds of copper equivalent per year. With a future mill expansion and the integration of New Ingerbelle, the Copper Mountain Mine is expected to produce approximately 140 million pounds of copper equivalent per year over the first 20 years of its 32-year mine life based on reserves. The Opportunity:
Hudbay Minerals Inc. is seeking a Business Systems Analyst at our Copper Mountain Mine in Princeton, BC. This position is a 5x2, Monday to Friday, day shift schedule. (Flexible Work option)

POSITION
Business Systems Analyst
LOCATION
Hudbay - Copper Mountain Mine, located near the town of Princeton, British Columbia at the center of the scenic Similkameen Valley. Princeton is a community-oriented town with a diverse offering of activities, especially for those who love the outdoors. Princeton is also in close proximity to both the city of Vancouver and the Okanagan.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Business Systems Analyst, reporting to the Manager of Applications for the BC Business Unit, will focus on business applications used in Copper Mountain Mine operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
End User Support
- End User Support,
- Keeps clients informed of problems, issues, and resolutions,
- Monitors and analyzes performance metrics to ensure client satisfaction,
- Provide realistic/timely client expectations,
- Ensures IT solutions meet client needs,
- Maintain the currently high levels of IT user satisfaction from Hudbay employees,
System Design
- Conducts data gathering and analysis to understand business strategy requirements,
- Contributes to short- and long-term planning sessions to ensure understanding of business goals and direction providing input from a business and IT perspective,
- Leads the assessment of client needs utilizing a structured requirements process (gathering, analyzing, documenting, and managing changes) to prioritize immediate business needs and recommend options, risks, and cost vs. benefits,
- Leads development and communicates business requirements and functional specifications for the design and implementation of business solutions,
- Analyzes client operations to understand their strengths and weaknesses to determine opportunities for improvements,
- Provides recommendations for business process redesign and documentation as needed for new technology,
- Conduct feasibility studies and draft proposals for evaluation by appropriate users and managers.
- Responsible for business case development and presentation,
System Maintenance and Development
- Follow appropriate change methodology,
- Investigates problems and develops recommendations for resolution.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Candidates for each role must possess the following experience in their specialization and have 1-3 years working experience,
- Demonstrated expertise including setup, configuration, and integration with other modules and external systems,
- Demonstrated experience conducting technical training sessions, indicating strong facilitation and knowledge-sharing capabilities,
- Proven track record in managing technical projects, including business process analysis, system design, and implementation,
- Experience in system maintenance and enhancement to ensure system reliability and performance,
- Experience working collaboratively with partners, system integrators and service providers to provide effective support and solutions to business problems,
- Experience with user and roles management within IT applications.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or equivalent work experience,
- Certifications related to project management (e.g., PMP), SAP S/4 HANA (e.g., SAP Certified Application Professional), IT service management (e.g., ITIL), and other relevant areas can greatly bolster a candidate's qualifications,
- Possess a valid Class 5/7N driver’s license and have access to personal transportation,
- Required to meet pre-employment testing requirements,
- Demonstrate the eligibility to work in Canada.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Frequent exposure to a team environment with regularly scheduled and ad-hoc meetings,
- Frequent exposure to sitting at a computer doing work online,
- Rare exposure to uncomfortable conditions associated with the work environment such as working in noisy, dusty, and wet environments.
RATE OF PAY
$75K - $90K/Annum
