The Copper Mountain mine currently produces approximately 100 million pounds of copper equivalent per year. With a future mill expansion and the integration of New Ingerbelle, the Copper Mountain Mine is expected to produce approximately 140 million pounds of copper equivalent per year over the first 20 years of its 32-year mine life based on reserves. The Opportunity:
Hudbay Minerals Inc. is seeking a Electrical & Instrumentation PM Coordinator at our Copper Mountain Mine in Princeton, BC. This position is a 5x2, Monday to Friday, day shift schedule.
Please note that this opportunity is NOT a fly-in-fly-out position.

Position
Electrical & Instrumentation PM Coordinator
Location
Copper Mountain Mine is located near the town of Princeton, British Columbia at the center of the scenic Similkameen Valley. Princeton is a community-oriented town with a diverse offering of activities, especially for those who love the outdoors. Princeton is also in close proximity to both the city of Vancouver and the Okanagan.
Summary
Reporting to the E&I Supervisor, the Electrical & Instrumentation PM Coordinator will work closely with the planners and tradespeople to ensure our current work orders, PM’s and job plans are providing the correct information at the right frequency based on the criticality of the asset they are assigned to.
Responsibilities
- Practices safe work behaviors and supports the Copper Mountain Mine safety culture through facilitating daily and monthly safety meetings and initiatives,
- Adhere strictly to PPE requirements in all areas while on mine property,
- Follow all Company policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures (SOPs),
- Coordinate with Materials coordinator to ensure required materials are staged for planned work,
- Assist in execution, supervision, and leadership for shutdown and weekly plan,
- Print & compile organized work packages for weekly and shutdown work,
- This position is required to spend time with tradespeople on the floor while work is being completed to validify job plans, work orders and PM’s,
- Will also work closely with Reliability team to provide them with data to assist in their improvements in the mine,
- Work closely with planners, procurement, and tradespeople to ensure fleets have the proper parts and materials stock quantities,
- Performs any other responsibilities related to the PM Coordinator role as required or as assigned by the department head.
Education & Experience
- Red Seal Interprovincial Journeyperson certification,
- Minimum 5 years of related experience with milling, Mine fixed asset and mobile equipment electrical infrastructure in the mining industry,
- Will require in-depth knowledge of equipment, processes, and priorities, and must have previous planning experience,
- Demonstrates a dedication to promoting safety in the workplace,
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Suite with knowledge of Microsoft Office application Excel,
- High level of proficiency in SAP, Maximo, or other similar CMMS systems,
- Previous supervisory experience considered an asset,
- Possess a valid Class 5/7N British Columbia driver’s license and have access to personal transportation.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities:
- Must have an in-depth knowledge of Heavy mobile equipment,
- Able to effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, coupled with exceptional interpersonal skills,
- Strong comprehension of both, the principles of preventative maintenance and maintenance planning,
- Strong interdepartmental communication and coordination, fostering collaboration to meet organizational objectives,
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills,
- Able to work efficiently and in a safe manner without supervision,
- Able to work collaboratively with other team members in a positive manner,
- Must work well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and possess a strong work ethic.
Working Conditions:
- Frequent exposure to a team environment with regularly scheduled and ad-hoc meetings,
- Frequent exposure to sitting at a computer doing work online,
- Frequent exposure to lifting and moving items up to 50 pounds,
- Exposure to uncomfortable conditions associated with the work environment such as working in noisy, dusty, and wet environments,
- Regular exposure to multiple priorities requiring scheduling changes and uncertainty in the work organization.
- Must be clean shaven.
Salary Range
$115K - $125K/ Annum
