The Opportunity:

 

Hudbay Minerals Inc. is seeking a Field Lube Serviceperson at our Copper Mountain Mine in Princeton, BC. This position is a 7x7, 12-hour, day shift schedule.

 

Please note that this opportunity is NOT a fly-in-fly-out position.

Field Lube Serviceperson

 

Location

Copper Mountain Mine is located near the town of Princeton, British Columbia at the center of the scenic Similkameen Valley. Princeton is a community-oriented town with a diverse offering of activities, especially for those who love the outdoors.  Princeton is also in close proximity to both the city of Vancouver and the Okanagan.

 

Summary

Reporting to the Mine Maintenance Supervisor, Shovels & Drills, the Field Lube Serviceperson is responsible for providing field lube and fuel services to field equipment. This position will also support the shop PM schedule when required.

 

Responsibilities 

  • Ensures the fuel and lube schedule is followed daily,
  • Manages refueling and lubricants on all mobile equipment in a cost-effective and safe manner to maximize equipment availability,
  • Taking oil samples and documentation of the samples,
  • Staging of PM kits for shop and drills & shovels,
  • Greasing of all mobile equipment in the field as required,
  • Supporting the Heavy Duty Mechanics for repairs as needed,
  • Performs any other responsibilities related to the Field Lube Serviceperson role as required or as assigned by the supervisor.

 

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED),
  • Previous manual labor work or service experience is considered an asset,
  • Experience servicing mobile equipment,
  • Possess a valid Class 5/7N driver’s license and have access to personal transportation.

 

Required Skills

  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills,
  • Ability to get trained on various equipment, learn from others, and adopt best practices while maintaining a strong focus on safety, integrity, and reliability,
  • Possess a solid mechanical ability/aptitude,
  • Self-motivated and able to work alone or with minimal supervision,
  • Ability to be very meticulous while steaming/cleaning equipment, cleaning the shop and other areas of the mine site,
  • Required to meet pre-employment testing requirements.

 

Working Conditions

  • Frequent exposure to adverse conditions associated with the work environment such as working in noisy, dusty, and wet environments,
  • Work will include frequent exposure to vibrations, chemicals and will often require working with minimum supervision,
  • Work will require working in heavy industrial environments that include adverse temperature conditions, both hot and cold; in and/or around moisture; walking on slippery and/or rough, uneven surfaces, in confined spaces; at heights; and involves climbing ladders and stairs,
  • Regular exposure to lifting and moving items and equipment up to 50 pounds,
  • Work will require climbing on equipment and under equipment occasionally in wet muddy conditions.

 

Rate of Pay

$39.83 / hr.
