The Copper Mountain mine currently produces approximately 100 million pounds of copper equivalent per year. With a future mill expansion and the integration of New Ingerbelle, the Copper Mountain Mine is expected to produce approximately 140 million pounds of copper equivalent per year over the first 20 years of its 32-year mine life based on reserves. The Opportunity:

 

Hudbay Minerals Inc. is seeking a Human Resources Coordinator at our Copper Mountain Mine in Princeton, BC. This position is a 5X2, Monday to Friday with a compress work schedule option.

 

Please note that this opportunity is NOT a fly-in-fly-out position.

POSITION

Human Resources Coordinator

 

LOCATION

Copper Mountain Mine is located near the town of Princeton, British Columbia at the center of the scenic Similkameen Valley. Princeton is a community-oriented town with a diverse offering of activities, especially for those who love the outdoors.  Princeton is also in close proximity to both the city of Vancouver and the Okanagan.

 

JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Human Resources Superintendent, the Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for providing administrative support in the Human resources Department. Provides superior customer service and handles or redirects questions from employees. Perform a variety of routine to difficult, confidential administrative duties.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Practices safe work behaviours and supports the Copper Mountain Mine safety culture through

participation in daily and monthly safety meetings and initiatives,

  • Provides reports and attends meetings to update on current activities,
  • Respond to employees’ requests regarding general HR related questions,
  • Administrative tasks as assigned such as maintaining HR documents, transmittals and other general administrative duties,
  • Orientation and on boarding of new team members,
  • Maintains utmost confidentiality in all interactions,
  • Organize set up and tear down events,
  • Performs any other responsibilities related to the HR Coordinator role as required or as assigned.

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Completion of 2 years college diploma in HR (Business Administration) or related field,
  • Minimum 2 years’ HR experience; previous experience in the mining industry or heavy industry is an asset, 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to present ideas clearly,
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders,
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a dynamic work environment,
  • Ability to manage sensitive information and maintain confidentiality,
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills,
  • Able to work as a team player as well as independently,
  • Able to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment,
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain a positive, professional demeanor in all situations,
  • Required to meet pre-employment testing requirements,
  • Demonstrate the eligibility to work in Canada.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Frequent exposure to a team environment with regularly scheduled and ad-hoc meetings,
  • Regular exposure to sitting at a computer doing work online,
  • Work involves performing duties in a combination of environments,
  • Occasional exposure to elements such as noise, dust, odors, fumes, and oils.

 

SALARY RANGE

$65K - $75K / Annually
