With a future mill expansion and the integration of New Ingerbelle, the Copper Mountain Mine is expected to produce approximately 140 million pounds of copper equivalent per year over the first 20 years of its 32-year mine life based on reserves. The Opportunity:

 

Hudbay Minerals Inc. is seeking a Mill Maintenance Materials Coordinator at our Copper Mountain Mine in Princeton, BC. This position is a 5x2, Monday to Friday, day shift schedule.

 

Please note that this opportunity is NOT a fly-in-fly-out position.

Materials Coordinator, Mill Maintenance

 

Location

Copper Mountain Mine is located near the town of Princeton, British Columbia at the center of the scenic Similkameen Valley. Princeton is a community-oriented town with a diverse offering of activities, especially for those who love the outdoors.  Princeton is also in close proximity to both the city of Vancouver and the Okanagan.

 

Summary

Reporting to the Mill Maintenance Superintendent, the Materials Coordinator is responsible for tracking and organizing materials as a kit and/or packages for planned work. In addition, the Materials Coordinator provides input to the schedule and in some cases, is assigned to expedite materials to ensure Materials are on site in order to schedule the work as a component of the work management process.

 

Responsibilities 

  • Identifies critical issues, synergies, conflicts to the longer-term schedule as well as sources materials for urgent work,
  • Provides input to the planning of approved work orders for procurement and execution prior to the Target Start Date, as assigned,
  • Tracks delivery/availability of materials and tools to meet the scheduled start date for work, following securing materials and tools prior to the scheduled start for work and moves them or other resources to site, if applicable,
  • Executes the business process for procuring resources for scheduled work orders,
  • Complies with quality specifications and authority levels set out in the system documentation,
  • Reviews the Material tracking and Work Order Status reports on a daily basis to track upcoming work,
  • Escalates immediately to the Scheduler any doubt on the delivery or availability of materials or tools for the scheduled start date for work,
  • Assembles, identifies, labels, and moves work package materials and tools to the nominated pick-up point (or arrange for their move) prior to the scheduled start,
  • Creates ICR’s and ICA to ensure that the proper parts/materials are in stock for related mill equipment,
  • Performs other responsibilities as required or as assigned.

 

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required,
  • Post-secondary diploma in Purchasing is considered an asset,
  • Experience in IBM Maximo work order and procurement process is considered an asset,
  • High level of proficiency in Computer Applications,
  • Possess a valid Class 5/7N driver’s license and have access to personal transportation.

  • Able to effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, coupled with exceptional interpersonal skills,
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills,
  • Adept to work efficiently and in a safe manner without supervision,
  • Able to work collaboratively with other team members in a positive manner,
  • Must work well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and possess a strong work ethic.

 

Working Conditions

  • Frequent exposure to uncomfortable conditions associated with the work environment such as noise and working in dusty and wet environments,
  • Work will require to be clean-shaven,
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position, heavy lifting, awkward positions, walking and standing.

Salary Range

$85K - $100K / annum.
