The Copper Mountain mine currently produces approximately 100 million pounds of copper equivalent per year. With a future mill expansion and the integration of New Ingerbelle, the Copper Mountain Mine is expected to produce approximately 140 million pounds of copper equivalent per year over the first 20 years of its 32-year mine life based on reserves. The Opportunity:
Hudbay Minerals Inc. is seeking a Recruiter at our Copper Mountain Mine in Princeton, BC. This position is a 5X2, Monday to Friday with a compress work schedule option.
Please note that this opportunity is NOT a fly-in-fly-out position.

Copper Mountain Mine is located near the town of Princeton, British Columbia at the center of the scenic Similkameen Valley. Princeton is a community-oriented town with a diverse offering of activities, especially for those who love the outdoors. Princeton is also in close proximity to both the city of Vancouver and the Okanagan.
JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Human Resources Superintendent Workforce Management, the Recruiter is responsible for executing recruitment strategies to attract top talent across multiple provinces in Canada, requiring knowledge of Canadian hiring regulations and regional nuances. The Recruiter collaborates with HR leadership to refine talent acquisition practices while ensuring compliance. This role may also support acquisitions and relocation efforts in partnership with HR team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Partners with people leaders to determine recruitment requirements; manages and participates in the full cycle recruitment process, including preparing job postings, screening resumes, interviewing candidates, and preparing offers of employment,
- Proactively source top-tier software talent through various channels, including LinkedIn, job boards, networking events, and employee referrals,
- Maintains compliance with federal and provincial regulations concerning employment,
- Provide regular updates and insights to hiring managers and Talent Acquisition leadership on the recruiting pipeline and progress,
- Handles electronic employment records and associated HR systems,
- Partner with hiring managers to understand their needs and provide market insights to drive effective hiring decisions,
- Support HR leadership in talent-related initiatives, including workforce planning, acquisitions, and employer branding,
- Track and analyze key recruitment metrics to assess the effectiveness of hiring processes,
- Support recruitment events, job fairs, and networking initiatives to strengthen the employer brand,
- Performs all other duties or projects necessary to support mill and mine operations related to the Recruiter role as required or assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be considered,
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in full-cycle recruiting, including talent acquisition strategy and execution,
- Proven experience in sourcing, screening, and selecting candidates across various industries and levels in high volume roles,
- Experience in the mining industry or heavy industry is ideal,
- Strong computer system aptitude and experience working with various types of software including Microsoft Office,
- Previous experience working with an HRIS system is considered an asset,
- Possess a valid driver’s license and have access to personal transportation.

- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders,
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a dynamic work environment,
- Ability to work independently, solve problems, and adapt in a rapidly changing environment,
- Ability to manage time to accomplish a variety of assignments with conflicting priorities and competing demands,
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain a positive, professional demeanor in all situations,
- Required to meet pre-employment testing requirements,
- Demonstrate the eligibility to work in Canada.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Frequent exposure to a team environment with regularly scheduled and ad-hoc meetings,
- Regular exposure to sitting at a computer doing work online,
- Work involves performing duties in a combination of environments,
- Occasional exposure to elements such as noise, dust, odors, fumes, and oils.
SALARY RANGE
$75K - $85K / Annually
