The Copper Mountain mine currently produces approximately 100 million pounds of copper equivalent per year. With a future mill expansion and the integration of New Ingerbelle, the Copper Mountain Mine is expected to produce approximately 140 million pounds of copper equivalent per year over the first 20 years of its 32-year mine life based on reserves. The Opportunity:
Hudbay Minerals Inc. is seeking a Material Handler at our Copper Mountain Mine in Princeton, BC. This position is a 5x2, Monday to Friday, day shift schedule.
Please note that this opportunity is NOT a fly-in-fly-out position.

Warehouse Material Handler
Location
Copper Mountain Mine, is located near the town of Princeton, British Columbia at the center of the scenic Similkameen Valley. Princeton is a community-oriented town with a diverse offering of activities, especially for those who love the outdoors. Princeton is also in close proximity to both the city of Vancouver and the Okanagan.
Summary
Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, the Material Handler is responsible for providing support to the Warehousing Department and Materials Coordinator to ensure the timely delivery of parts and materials required to support production at the Copper Mountain mine site.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Materials Coordinator positions with kitting and staging direct procurement parts for end users,
- Assist with picking and staging materials requisition orders for end users,
- Assist with picking and staging planned maintenance items and/or work orders for end users,
- Assist with organization of surplus materials, including shipping returns of cores, parts exchanges and/or unused parts for credit,
- Responsible for keeping Kitting and Staging areas clean and organized,
- Ensures care and proper storage of physical assets and condition of Direct Charge
- Inventory,
- Performs other responsibilities as required or as assigned by the department head.
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED),
- Experience with articulated wheel loader, counterbalance forklift and/or telehandler,
- Minimum of one (1) to two (2) years of experience working is a warehouse environment preferred,
- Previous experience using SAP,
- Proficient user of Google Workspace,
- Possess a valid Class 5/7N British Columbia driver’s license and have access to personal transportation.
Required Skills
- Successful completion of pre-employment screening requirements and drug & alcohol testing,
- Able to effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, coupled with exceptional interpersonal skills,
- Able to perform manual and clerical work accurately under minimal supervision,
- Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external contacts,
- Details and results-oriented with the ability to multi-task, and adhere to deadlines,
- Must be able to manage time effectively and set priorities,
- Demonstrate eligibility to work in Canada,
- Required to meet pre-employment testing requirements.
Working Conditions
- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals,
- Lifting or moving up to 50lbs may be required,
- Work is performed in a combination of environments,
- This position may be exposed to elements such as noise, dust, odours, fumes, and oils,
- Frequently noisy working environment,
- Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position.
Rate of Pay
$65K-$67K/Annum
