The Opportunity:
Hudbay Minerals Inc. is seeking a Warehouseperson at our Copper Mountain Mine in Princeton, BC. This position is a 7x7, 12-hour, day and night shift schedule.
Please note that this opportunity is NOT a fly-in-fly-out position.

Location
Copper Mountain Mine is located near the town of Princeton, British Columbia at the center of the scenic Similkameen Valley. Princeton is a community-oriented town with a diverse offering of activities, especially for those who love the outdoors. Princeton is also in close proximity to both the city of Vancouver and the Okanagan.
Summary
Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, the Warehouseperson will be responsible for ensuring the accurate, timely and seamless receiving and processing of incoming shipments. The Warehouseperson will load and unload shipments regularly, with the capability of repetitive heavy lifting, and use any necessary equipment, e.g., lift truck, forklift, etc. The Warehouseperson must understand the impact of this position to other business functions that depend on the accuracy and efficiency of incoming items.
Responsibilities
- Prepare receiving area to accept incoming product, verify and inspect received product to ensure there is no damage,
- Match product with purchase orders,
- Operate a Rubber Tired Loader, Forklift or Pallet Jack in a safe manner to move product,
- Process all required paperwork and maintain adequate records for reporting and tracking,
- Manage inventory of shipping materials and supplies,
- Perform quality audits of the condition of shipped goods for both incoming and outgoing items prior to signing off,
- Oversee the secure and accurate loading and unloading of deliveries,
- Track, verify receipts of shipments and ensure shipments contain proper documentation,
- Assist with scheduling freight appointments as required,
- Organize and maintain work area in accordance with Company policies, procedures, and safety regulations,
- Assist end use customers in obtaining required materials,
- Perform cycle counts as required and assigned,
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
- Valid British Columbia or Interprovincial Parts and Warehousing Person Red Seal Trades Certification is required,
- Valid Forklift certification is an asset,
- Experience in the mining industry preferred,
- Experience working in Shipping and Receiving roles,
- Experience with computer applications such as Maximo,
- Possess a valid driver’s license.
Required Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills,
- Ability to perform lifting using safe lifting methods,
- Accuracy and attention to detail while working under tight deadlines,
- Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills,
- Strong interpersonal skills,
- Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently,
- Required to meet pre-employment testing requirements.
Working Conditions
- Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position,
- Work is performed in a combination of environments including heat and cold,
- This position may be exposed to elements such as noise, dust, odors, fumes, and oils.
Rate of Pay
$52.58 / hr.
