With a future mill expansion and the integration of New Ingerbelle, the Copper Mountain Mine is expected to produce approximately 140 million pounds of copper equivalent per year over the first 20 years of its 32-year mine life based on reserves. The Opportunity:

 

Hudbay Minerals Inc. is seeking a Workforce Management Coordinator at our Copper Mountain Mine in Princeton, BC. This position is a 5X2, Monday to Friday with a compress work schedule option.

POSITION

Workforce Management Coordinator

 

LOCATION

Copper Mountain Mine is located near the town of Princeton, British Columbia at the center of the scenic Similkameen Valley. Princeton is a community-oriented town with a diverse offering of activities, especially for those who love the outdoors.  Princeton is also in close proximity to both the city of Vancouver and the Okanagan.

 

JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the HR Superintendent, Workforce Management, the Workforce Management Coordinator is responsible to Provide administrative support in the Human resources Department. Provides superior customer service to all users of the Ceridian Systems and handles questions from employees that relate to their pay. Perform a variety of routine to difficult, confidential administrative duties.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Dayforce: Day to Day Maintenance. Handle Support Tickets, attend all Ceridian meetings and pull resources where necessary,
  • Manage the input of Shift Rotation changes, Employee history stacks, Secondary Positions, Pay Deadlines. Create/Maintain training packages for Ceridian users and provide training, 
  • Develop and maintain Admin Manual,
  • Set up users,
  • Train and provide support for users,
  • Handle Year End Processes (Vacation Entitlements/Payouts, Ensure the General Increase is imported correctly),
  • Ensure all jobs are running smoothly. Ensure all data entry from previous day has been entered accurately and in full. Field questions regarding employees Home Accounts and submit tickets for changes as necessary. Provide back up to HR team,
  • Assist recruiting team with casual recruitment, and interviews,
  • Maintain report catalogue for Ceridian Systems. Monthly Overtime Reports, Workforce, Budgets, Charting,
  • Run reports to determine eligible award recipients. Provide names/years to H&S in order for them to order Safety Awards,
  • Organize, set up and tear down events,
  • Support in the preparation of Annual Budget review,
  • Responsible for coordinating and organizing various company events (BBQs, etc.). Responsible for sitting on the Social Committee, assist with planning and organizing events in collaboration with other team members and departments,
  • Order flight passes per request of Travel Coordinator. Process Payments. Complete monthly reporting and balance flights against relocation/travel coordinator’s spreadsheet. Report findings and discrepancies to Finance,
  • Oversees the company’s charity processes and donations including scholarships.  Reviews all incoming requests for donations and presents these to the Donations Committee for approval.  Liaises and communicates with charities on whether or not they are approved as a charity.  Maintains corporate charity list.  Processes payments though Chrome River, issue letters and cheques.

 

 EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Completion of 2 years college diploma in HR (Business Administration) or related field,
  • Minimum 3 years’ HR generalist experience; previous experience in the mining industry or heavy industry is an asset, 
  • Enjoy spending time in the field talking to employees and managers and working through solutions,
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to present ideas clearly,
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently across different levels of the organization,
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders,
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a dynamic work environment,
  • Ability to work independently, solve problems, and adapt in a rapidly changing environment,
  • Ability to manage sensitive information and maintain confidentiality,
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills,
  • Able to work as a team player as well as independently,
  • Able to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment,
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain a positive, professional demeanor in all situations,
  • Required to meet pre-employment testing requirements.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Frequent exposure to a team environment with regularly scheduled and ad-hoc meetings,
  • Regular exposure to sitting at a computer doing work online,
  • Work involves performing duties in a combination of environments,
  • Occasional exposure to elements such as noise, dust, odors, fumes, and oils.

 

SALARY RANGE

$90K - $110K / Annually
