The Opportunity: 

• We are seeking Red Seal Industrial Mechanics (Millwrights) for our Stall Mill and New Britannia Mill in Snow Lake, MB
• Relocation packages and housing assistance is available to move you and your family to the vibrant community of Snow Lake.
• There is a camp available for those who wish to drive in and out to Snow Lake, please note this is not a “fly-in-fly-out” opportunity.
• Shift schedule is 7/7 (11.5hrs).

Responsibilities:

• Inspects job and determines nature and extent of repairs, methods, materials, tools, etc. exercises judgment in the selection of materials and tools, and in methods so that job is performed in accordance with accepted safety standards.
• Initiates drawing changes, checks blueprints; consults with foremen regarding standards.
• Inspects job site; makes field calculations and recommends repair or replacement of tools or equipment.
• Recommend system and parts modifications, repair or replacement, changes in materials and improvements in methods to supervision.
• Repairs, overhauls, installs, dismantles, modifies, replaces, adjusts, tests, cleans, lubricates and maintains all types of plant and mine equipment and tools.
• Pours, puddles and scrapes babbitt bearings as required.
• Erects safety barriers, signs and uses ladder and scaffold to work on elevated position.
• Checks and services elevators.
• Sets up and operates welding and burning equipment as required.
• Moves, sets in place, erects, assembles, or dismantles machinery and equipment.
• Performs fitting related to trade on materials.
• Performs scheduled, emergency, and preventative maintenance in shop, plant, field, and underground.
• Inspects, repairs, and tests mine hoist and auxiliary equipment, certifies that required tests and repairs have been performed, and notifies foreman of problems
• Maintains log books as required by legislation and policy. Reports irregularities to supervision.
• Mentors apprentices.

Prerequisites:

• Must be a Red Seal Journeyperson Industrial Mechanic (Millwright)
• Experience in mining is preferred

Salary: $44.17/hr
