Copper is the primary metal produced by the company, which is complemented by meaningful gold production. Hudbay’s growth pipeline includes the Copper World project in Arizona, the Mason project in Nevada (United States), the Llaguen project in La Libertad (Peru) and several expansion and exploration opportunities near its existing operations.

 

Purpose of Role:

The Shared Service Applications Lead will coordinate the IT support efforts of the IT team.  This includes but not limited to the assignment of trouble tickets and scheduling of the work with the IT employees and our support partners.

This role will support the development and implementation of policies, strategies, and initiatives that guide the planning, integration, acquisition, deployment, operation, enhancement, and support of the business unit’s information infrastructure — the mission-critical business platform for achieving the business unit’s strategic and operational goals.

 

Role Accountabilities:

  • IT Support Coordination
    • Resolve service level expectations and negotiate priorities regarding Applications, Infrastructure, Desktop Applications and Help Desk
    • In absence of IT Management, perform coaching and mentorship of peers
    • IT scheduling, forecasting and audit work
    • Liaise with support partners to maintain service levels and relationships
    • Maintain IT disaster recovery and be a member of the disaster recovery team in the selection of recovery strategies and the development, testing and maintenance of disaster recovery plans
  • Operational leadership
    • Facilitate the creation of guidelines, standards and practices that ensure that operations may function, e.g., negotiate with and influence customers/stakeholders in order to maintain customer satisfaction with new policies and practices while optimizing the operation of the entire IT infrastructure, create an environment in which customer concerns and issues may be balanced appropriately and consistently
    • Provide advice and support to peers and more senior staff in order to facilitate business initiatives
  • Provide for the following key areas of IT support:
    • Bring technology and project management expertise to support the development and implementation of new operating processes to increase production and reduce operating costs
    • Balance the reliability, cost-effectiveness, and responsiveness of IT applications to best meet business needs
    • Maintain the currently high levels of IT user satisfaction from employees and implement plans to address identified areas of opportunity for user satisfaction improvement
    • Monitor the external environment to identify new technologies that can enhance Hudbay’s business
    • Assist in developing the budget for the upcoming year
    • Directing the daily operations, productivity, performance, and security of Hudbay’s IT service delivery function with respect to internal resources, external vendor resources, end user support activities, IT Service Management (ITSM) processes, delivery methodologies, desktop support, technology platforms and related tools

 

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years working with Enterprise Applications such as SAP ERP/S4HANA, SuccessFactors, Intelex, Microsoft Dynamic (among others) in the capacity of a Business Systems Analyst or Business Systems Lead. To be clear, this needs to be application management experience, not infrastructure or helpdesk support.

  • Experience working with Service Management Applications, experience with creating reports in Service Now an advantage
  • Proven hands-on experience in SAP project implementation and maintenance
  • Experience coordinating the delivery of technical and functional application changes following established Change Management Principles and Practices, including experience managing transports between application environments
  • Experience working in a Sox-controlled environment with IT General Controls processes preferred
  • Experience preparing Requests For Proposals/Requests For Information
  • Experience working in a G-Suite environment is an asset

 

Knowledge & skills:

  • Knowledge of SAP configuration is required-FICO, MM or PM
  • Able to evaluate service delivery, including the preparation of service analytics such as turnaround times, SLA’s etc.
  • Comfortable communicating with a wide variety of stakeholders, including the creation of and delivery of presentations
  • Comfortable with, and capable of influencing behaviour of internal client groups, and third-party support vendors, to complete tasks such as testing execution and/or documentation
  • Skilled at maintaining IT procedures concerning the support of enterprise applications
  • Above average verbal and written communication skills, in technical and non-technical contexts
  • Proficiency in the Spanish language is an asset.

 

Qualifications:

  • Post-Secondary qualifications in Information Technology or Business, or a comparable level of work experience
  • ITIL Service Lifecycle certification an advantage
  • SAP Certifications is an asset

 

Travel:

15%-10% travel- site visits as needed.

 

Working Arrangements:

Role is eligible flexible work arrangements, allowing you to balance 50% of your time in the office with 50% time working remotely.
