Hudbay uses SAP SuccessFactors as our core system for Human Resources, which is BIB integrated to SAP ECC for HR & Payroll in Peru, and PTP integrated to SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll in Canada. We have a steady amount of support work to maintain these environments, and are contemplating extensions of EC Payroll into new countries and business units. While a partner is required for some basis and provisioning tasks, much of the configuration can be completed in house and we are considering an in-house support and deployment model. With this in mind, we are searching for a SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll / SAP ECC Payroll Consultant to support us on our journey.
The Consultant will report to the Manager of Shared Service Applications, and taking direction from the HRIS Business Analyst, the purpose of the role is to maintain HR/Payroll configuration in both payroll instances SAP. This will require a unique individual who can lead detailed requirements gathering sessions, hold archiecture conversations and advocate for a specific solution, perform hands on configuration, and faciliate UAT sessions with end users. There is some flexibility with our timelines, but are looking for consulting support beginning April / May on an ongoing basis. The volume of work will be part time and will fluctuate, allowing you to work around other engagements.
Ongoing Accountabilities:
- Payroll Requirements Gathering and Design
- Conducts data gathering and analysis to understand business strategy requirements
- Leads the assessment of client needs utilizing a structured requirements process (gathering, analyzing, documenting, and managing changes) to prioritize immediate business needs and recommends options, risks, and cost vs. benefits.
- Analyzes client operations to understand their strengths and weaknesses to determine opportunities for improvements.
- Provides recommendations for business process redesign and documentation as needed for new technology.
- Payroll System Development
- Follow appropriate change methodology
- Leads development of and communicates business requirements and functional specifications for the design and implementation of business solutions.
- Investigates problems and develops recommendations for resolution.
- End User Support
- End User Support
- Keeps clients informed of problems, issues, and resolutions.
- Monitors and analyzes performance metrics to ensure client satisfaction.
- Provide realistic/timely client expectations.
- Ensures IT solutions meet client needs.
- Maintain the currently high levels of IT user satisfaction from Hudbay employees.
Experience. Candidates must possess the following experience:
- Extensive experience in implementing, maintaining, and optimizing SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll or SAP ECC Payroll
- Demonstrated expertise including setup, configuration, and integration with other modules and external systems. Must have hands on experience configuring the B2B and PTP integrations.
- Proven track record with SAP Payroll projects, including business process analysis, system design, and implementation.
- Experience in system maintenance and enhancement to ensure system reliability and performance.
Knowledge & skills. Candidates must possess the following skills and experience:
- In-depth knowledge of SAP HR-Payroll, whether it was obtained in Employee Central Payroll or an ECC environment
- Experience with country version 07 is essential, 99 is advantageous, and 10 may be valuable for future rollouts.
- The ability to translate business requirements into effective SAP solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with expertise in system design and requirements assessment.
- Proficiency in change management methodologies
- Ability to maintain high levels of user satisfaction and effectively address and resolve system issues
- Spanish language skills an advantage, but are not required
Qualifications needed to perform job accountabilities well:
- SAP Payroll certification obtained while working at a SAP Partner, or in the absence of certification, certificate of completion for the relevant admin course in the SFALC.
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or equivalent work experience
- Certifications related to project management and IT service management can greatly bolster a candidate's qualifications.

No travel is expected for this role. Work may be completed remotely anywhere in Canada, however there will be occasional and infrequent meetings requiring attendance at our Toronto downtown office.
